I remember this place, though I've never been here before

This feels like a place from days past. All at once familiar and unknown. Like something from long ago, in days which my glasses tint with a rosy glow. Erubescent. Nostalgic. But in a world of social media dominated by faceless algorithms and impersonal clicks, perhaps this is the kind of space I need right now.

Time will tell.

Dreamwidth is a good place for actually getting to know each other, and for sharing longer works like poems or stories rather than just snapshots.

It helps to pick a few favorite topics and set recurring posts.

Look for some active communities, too. Some possibilities:

Thanks for the tips. Compared with what I remember of Livejournal, this place feels a lot more… closed. It’ll take some time to become reacquainted, I guess.

LiveJournal is nothing like it used to be, alas. This is the closest I've found. Some parts of Dreamwidth are still pretty open.

You might also watch for friending memes. Those seem to peak in January and in summer.
